I Found the 7 Best B2B Email List Providers for Your Business

Have you ever gotten an email that made you laugh or raise your eyebrows?

Example of how not to do cold emails.

By now, you and I both know that emails are one of the best outreach tactics. A good email can leave a good impression and convert a lead. A bad one leaves you scratching your head and wondering if the person even knows what they’re selling.

But that brings us to the next question.

How do I build a B2B email marketing list?

Most people build B2B email lists using a third-party data provider like ZoomInfo. These providers have huge contact databases full of company and personal profiles along with contact information like emails and phone numbers.

You can use these data providers to search for a list of companies that fit your ideal customer profile (ICP) and then look up the key decision-makers of these companies. Once you’ve found the founders, CEOs, CTOs, CMOs of these organizations, you can use the same data provider to retrieve their emails, thus creating your B2B email list.

How I chose the best B2B email list providers

When you’re looking for a data provider to get emails, here are the main factors that you should consider:

I’ll be focusing mainly on their ability to get you good emails, so I’ll skip over other lead generation features like ‘intent signals’, or ‘email outreach’.

Data quality

The size and accuracy of a database is pivotal.

Larger databases typically offer access to a wide range of leads across different industries, regions, and roles. However, a big database is only beneficial if it’s accurate.

If there are no verification processes in place, your emails end up floating in the void or in the inboxes of the wrong people.

Pricing

Aside from affordability, transparency and value for money are important considerations for most companies.

No one likes surprise fees or paying hundreds of dollars only to get a handful of leads.

User Experience

A clunky platform and a steep learning curve can make you want to toss your laptop. We checked reviews to see how user-friendly each of these platforms is so that you can keep your workflow smooth and frustration-free.

ZoomInfo

ZoomInfo is one of the largest and most robust third-party data providers in today’s market, great for getting B2B emails.

Zoominfo's database, datapoints and phone numbers

They have one of the biggest databases available on the market, with over 260M personal profiles and 100M company profiles published. With such a big database, it’s not a surprise that ZoomInfo is a popular choice for building email lists.

If you’re just starting out, you can join their community group and access emails for free. However, it only works with business emails and if your domain has ever subscribed to them, you are no longer eligible for their ZoomInfo community program.

Zoominfo's community edition.

All you have to do is go to their advanced search, look up your ICP, and then export your results to CSV. Ta-da! You have all the emails you need.

Data quality

Well, they’re one of the biggest B2B data providers; 600M profiles and 135M verified phone numbers. It’s not a surprise that they’ve got really great data for most industries.

Their emails and phone numbers are refreshed daily and run through a proprietary verification process called NeverBounce. This process checks each email contact up to 75 times so you can be sure that your emails are pretty accurate.

Neverbounce also verifies entire mail servers using a combination of advanced SMTP checks and processes to ensure user identification data is accurate, all in real-time. This translates into significantly lower bounce rates, higher revenue, and more effective campaigns.

Pricing

ZoomInfo doesn’t list any prices on their websites. If you want to know how much it costs, you need to get in touch with their sales teams.

I did a little digging and the cheapest mention of a ZoomInfo plan that I’ve found starts at $14k per year, which is about $1,100/month. Seeing as it was a ‘starter’ plan, there’s a high likelihood that the enterprise plans can run you a bill of more than $50k a year.

Anecdotal evidence of Zoominfo's price
Anecdotal evidence of how Zoominfo's not too great.

Vendr (A company that gives you ballpark figures of what services cost) mentions that ZoomInfo prices based on headcount, and a headcount of 200 starts at $15k.

As far as I know, there aren’t any free trials for ZoomInfo, only demos. Without the option to test them out, many small to mid-sized businesses may choose to go elsewhere for their data solutions.

User experience

ZoomInfo has a ton of features because it’s an end-to-end software platform that covers every single aspect of the sales and marketing experience. They boast integrations with nearly every popular CRM platform out there, which makes it easier for users to slide ZoomInfo into existing workflows.

However, some users have expressed that having too many features can get distracting and make it difficult to actually drill down to the core of what they want.

One user's reported cons of ZoomInfo

Additionally, a little-known fact is that you are not allowed to keep the data you get from ZoomInfo and if you cancel your subscription, you have to delete all the contact information you got from them.

User experience of not being able to keep information from ZoomInfo

But it seems if you make enough noise, you can strike a solid deal with their reps.

My verdict on Zoominfo

ZoomInfo is a robust and feature-packed solution, but it doesn’t come cheap and it can be very overwhelming for smaller teams. If you have just the one guy working in sales who’s looking up email lists, maybe start out with something simpler and more affordable.

Pros:

  • Feature-rich platform for lead prospecting and company insights.
  • Extensive integrations make it easier to integrate into existing processes.

Cons:

  • High prices that start around $1,100 a month.
  • Steep learning curve for new users navigating its complex features.

Best for: Large teams ready to supercharge their sales and marketing with a goldmine of B2B contact and company data, provided they’ve got some cash to burn.

Sapiengraph

Sapiengraph offers prospecting, data enrichment, and job change tracking. We have a whole suite of easy-to-use tools that you can start using in just 5 minutes. No long import times, no extensive onboarding processes.

There are a couple of ways you can get B2B email lists from Sapiengraph: Our Prospector tool and our Data Enrichment Spreadsheets

Personally, I prefer the Prospector because it lets you filter out profiles that don’t have any email addresses or phone numbers.

Example of how Sapiengraph's prospector works

With 44 filters, you can easily search for key decision-makers like CEOs or CTOs. You can pick the ones you like, and then export the profiles as a CSV.

Best of all, if the same person comes up in multiple searches, their profile will remain unlocked forever.

You can also manually search for leads using our Data Enrichment Spreadsheets. It’s pretty much the same as the Prospector, except that you need to use the custom Google Sheet formula to search for a prospect.

You can use these formulas to search for specific data that you don’t already have, to save on credits.

If you already have a list of people you want to email, you can look up their personal email addresses using the =SG_Personal_Emails(LinkedIn URL) formula.

How to find email addresses in Google Sheets on Sapiengraph

Data quality

We have a database of 19M company profiles and around 493M personal profiles. I think that’s not too shabby.

When it comes to freshness, Sapiengraph has both fresh and cached data. If you install our fresh data add-on, then each Google sheet formula you use will retrieve information guaranteed to be updated within 29 days.

Pricing

We’re transparent about what we charge. Sapiengraph has monthly plans starting from $98/month, and annual plans (paid monthly) that average out to $49/month.

Sapiengraph's pricing plans

No hidden costs. Regardless of whether you’re using the People Prospector or if you’re using our custom Google Sheet formulas, you can know exactly how many credits you’re using because it’s all listed in our user guide.

User experience

I’d like to think that we deliver on the fact that our tools are easy to use. I mean, all you need to do is sign up, log in, and then the Prospector is all yours. You don’t need an extensive set-up.

Basically, if you’re looking for the emails, only the emails, and nothing but the emails, our Prospector is your best bet.

Installing our Sapiengraph extension also gives you access to a whole bunch of ready-to-use Google Sheets formulas. This means you can start enriching data in your existing spreadsheets. No need to learn how to use another platform.

Bonus: If you don’t like talking to AI customer service, we don’t have that. Our CEO is a huge fan of the personal touch and he personally replies to a lot of the customer support tickets that come in.

What people have said about Sapiengraph's data

“Documentation is clear and well-structured, and there are many APIs for a great number of use cases…(but)  Moreover, we are now testing the 'Search' APIs and it would be great to have more documentation on the how (sic) the string matching is applied there.” - a verified user

“Honestly, it was great. Surprisingly simple to set up - didn't realise onboarding a tech could be that easy!” - Fiadhnaid, CTO

My verdict on Sapiengraph

If you’re looking for something that has end-to-end service, AI marketing forecast, AI-assisted email writing, and follow-up reminders, then Sapiengraph isn’t for you.

It’s for people who are interested in lead generation and data enrichment without frills or trills.

Pros:

  • Stupidly simple setup: Just sign up and start
  • Integrates directly into Google Sheets, no need for learning a new system

Cons:

  • No AI-assisted emails/writing/reminders
  • Doesn’t integrate into other CRM unless the CRM is Google Sheets.

Best for: Individual sales reps that want laser-focused B2B email lists that actually deliver results.

Sign up for a Sapiengraph account here and get 100 free credits immediately to start doing lead tracking in your Google Sheets.

UpLead

If you’ve been in the B2B sector for some time, you’ve probably heard of UpLead as well. While they don’t have a database on par with ZoomInfo or Clearbit, they’re pretty decent. Not to mention, they won’t let you export invalid emails at all. Pretty sweet and stops you from getting flagged as spam.

Bonus: All of their contact information is verified in real-time, making it easier for you to reach the people you want to reach.

Uplead's database, accuracy rate, and other promises.

Data quality

They have a database of over 16M company profiles and 160M B2B contact profiles. It’s not as big as some of the other providers on the list, but if they live up to their 95% data accuracy claim, then I say it’s pretty worth it.

UpLead divides their emails into three types: ‘Valid’, ‘Accept all’, and ‘Invalid’.

If you’re looking up leads on UpLead and you see an email address labeled Valid, that means it’s 100% verified. If it’s ‘Invalid’, then it means this email is a bust.

But what does ‘Accept All’ mean? It’s UpLead’s version of telling you if the email server is a ‘catch-all’ server that will accept all incoming mail.

Basically, if you emailed Jane Doe at randomcompany.com, but she’s no longer working there and randomcompany.com is a catch-all server, then your message to [email protected] is going to end up in a generic catch-all inbox like ‘[email protected]’.

UpLead's email verification system.

If you choose to reach out to someone labeled as ‘Accept All’, there’s a higher chance of your email bouncing and a lower chance of your message getting seen by the correct person.

If you don’t want to take that chance, you can choose to download only emails that are ‘Valid’.

Pricing

UpLead has both monthly ($99/month) and annual plans ($74/month). All the pricing plans are available on their website.

UpLead's pricing plans

UpLead uses a credit-based system that’s recharged monthly. Users get 170 credits each month and can download one (1) contact for one (1) credit.

It’s not exactly the cheapest, considering that other platforms are offering 300-400 leads a month for similar prices or lower. But again, if they make good on their 95% accuracy, it’s worth it.

User experience

One of the issues is that you can’t search for ‘only Valid’ emails. (Though, to be honest, I don’t think other providers have this feature either.)

One user expressed that it was frustrating to get a list of 750 people, but end up with only 315 leads because the rest of them don’t have ‘Valid’ emails.

One user's dislikes about UpLead

Aside from that, people have praised the number of filters available that make it easier to segment lists, and the speed of the customer service in helping you solve problems.

One user's pros when it comes to UpLead.

My verdict on Uplead

UpLead’s database is smaller than other providers. Given that it’s quite US-centric, users searching for B2B contact information from other regions may find it lacking.

Their email validity checks have pulled through, but for marketing teams looking to build email lists of international folks, you might want to look elsewhere.

One user's positive experience using UpLead

Pros:

  • Real-time verification
  • Only pay for verified emails

Cons:

  • Literally emails only, no phone numbers, not great for cold calls.
  • Limited verified database for regions outside of the United States of America.

Best for: Teams that need verified email lists without breaking the bank.

Lusha

Lusha’s been in the industry since 2016. Like some of the other B2B data providers, Lusha has a community program that collects contact information from their client’s databases.

If you opt to join this program, you give them access to your business emails and they cross-check the data you have in yours, with the data they have in theirs, thus verifying if certain emails are valid or not.

Lusha's offerings when it comes to enrichment.

Data quality

They have around 100M+ business profiles and 60M+ decision-maker email addresses. Despite their smaller database, they claim that their database is 81% accurate and does not contain partial or incorrect information.

Lusha's database, and quality

Like UpLead, Lusha labels their contact information. When you start looking up leads, they’ll tell you if you’re getting an A+ or A grade email (as personally defined by them).

Now, Lusha doesn’t guarantee 100% deliverability, but they say that any email labeled A+ is ‘highly likely to be delivered and is a high-confidence email address’.

Lusha's email deliverability standards.

They claim to have an accuracy of about 81%, which is pretty good. However, some users have reported email verification rates of as low as 37%, which basically means that certain niches are definitely underrepresented and unverified.

At the same time, Lusha has a slower refresh rate compared to other companies, thus leading to less accurate data.

Pricing

Their Pro plan starts at $49/month. Take an annual subscription and that drops to $37/month. The Pro plan can be shared across 3 seats/users – ideal for smaller teams.

Lusha's pricing plans.

Lusha also allows you to customize your plan according to the number of emails you need for the same number of seats. The cost will scale with the number of contact information they provide.

For example, for a monthly Pro plan, you’re getting 160 emails and 40 phone numbers for $49 a month, which in my opinion, is more bang for your buck compared to UpLead. If you up it to 480 emails and 130 phones, it’ll cost you $147 per month.

It’s a pretty sweet option if your sales and marketing team hasn’t grown, but the number of your target leads has increased.

A user's negative experience with Lusha

User experience

Most users report that their support team replies pretty quickly – always a plus point when dealing with customer service.

Another user's negative experience with Lusha

However, users have also mentioned that smaller plans have hidden limits on their integrations. Lusha does limit the number of contacts you can see per page (it’s 50 on the Pro plan) – annoying if you’re trying to bulk export many emails at once.

My verdict on Lusha

There does seem to be a rising number of complaints about email verification. I don’t like to bring this up when it comes to accuracy because all B2B data providers face the same complaints, but when a guy tests it and comes up with a 37% validity, I’d say that’s an issue.

Pros:

  • Lower cost-per-email
  • Flexible payment plans

Cons:

  • Reported hidden limits on integrations based on plans
  • Smaller database compared to other companies

Best for: Growing / scaling teams on a budget

Kaspr

If you’re wondering why I didn’t recommend LinkedIn Sales Navigator, it’s because it doesn’t actually export emails – only allows you to send Inmails to people. Which is why I’m recommending Kaspr instead.

Kaspr’s browser extension is designed to integrate with LinkedIn and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to extract contact information from the platform. They also have access to accurate contact data from more than 200M profiles in Europe.

Kaspr's offering of European contact data.

Their free Chrome extension gives you access to 5 emails every single month. Yes they market unlimited B2B emails, but that only happens after you refer 3 work colleagues to them.

Kaspr's LinkedIn Chrome Extension

Data quality

Kaspr verifies emails and phone numbers from 150 sources on the internet. They don’t go into detail on how, exactly, but they are part of Cognism, who is known for being pretty accurate. So it’s not a surprise that Kaspr’s database consists mainly of US and EU profiles and they have a better EU database than most.

Kaspr's data quality

Pricing

The starter plan costs $46/month, or $35/month for the annual subscription. But if you look closely, that only gives you access to 5 direct email credits. If you want more than that, you need to upgrade to the business plan, which is $69 a month, to get 200 direct email credits.

Kaspr's pricing plans

It’s not exactly the best cost-per-lead, but your mileage may vary.

User experience

It’s very easy to use, but there have been complaints about a steeper learning curve when it comes to doing the integrations, and the available number of credits for each plan.

A review about Kaspr
User's negative experience of Kaspr

Worst of all is the customer service, which several users have complained is practically non-existent despite having a contract.

My verdict on Kaspr

Kaspr is great for LinkedIn-focused prospecting. They also limit the number of exports you can perform, which can impact your workflow.

Another potential issue is that they’re not fully privacy-compliant like other platforms. They call themselves GDPR and CCPA aligned instead of compliant – that they don’t provide legal support if you hit a snag. If that’s a serious concern for your company, it’s time to scroll on (or back up, to us. We’re compliant).

Kaspr's compliance levels.

Pros:

  • Extension can easily pull contacts from LinkedIn
  • Very accurate phone numbers.

Cons:

  • Not fully GDPR or CCPA compliant.
  • Technically unlimited B2B contacts, but also technically limited.

Best for: Small teams focused on LinkedIn-based prospecting.

RocketReach

RocketReach’s database has over 700M professional profiles and 60M company profiles. They have advanced search capabilities, leaning on 3rd party providers like Bombora to confirm intent data.

RocketReach's offerings and database

They have over 100 search filters so you can search for ICPs and key decision-makers easily.

Data quality

Rocketreach says that they verify 180M emails every month and that they have a deliverability rate of more than 98% for the emails that they ranked ‘A’. Take note, they’re not claiming that all their emails have a 98% success rate, just the ones ranked ‘A’.

RocketReach's data accuracy and deliverability

They do, however, have a reported accuracy of over 85%, which is pretty good. Some of the emails are predicted using common email patterns, but all of them are verified in real-time, so you can start emailing in peace.

RocketReach's more than 85% accuracy.

Pricing

RocketReach’s monthly Essentials plan for individuals starts at $99/month. It drops to $48/month if you do an annual subscription.

The plan gives you access to 100 exports a month, which is a little bit pricier than other companies' cost-per-lead. But the plan does also come with other goodies like autopilot for 5 active jobs and sending 500 emails a day, from their inbuilt mailer.

RocketReach's plans and pricing.

If you want to email directly from the comfort of a platform, RocketReach might be your answer.

User experience

While people have praised the accuracy of the information on the platform, the clunkiness of the interface has been a constant point of frustration.

It doesn’t load as quickly as other platforms, it malfunctions quite frequently, it really puts a damper on work productivity. It’s, unfortunately, not as intuitive and easy-to-use as other data providers on this list.

A user's negative experience with RocketReach
A user's negative experience with RocketReach

Another user mentioned that while RocketReach provides unlimited data for viewing, exporting the data actually costs credits that get consumed very quickly. And once those are finished, you find yourself paying out the nose for even more export credits.

A user's negative experience with RocketReach

My verdict on Rocketreach

If you’re interested in RocketReach in particular, we’ve made a detailed comparison of RocketReach alternatives. Personally though, I’m the kind of person who rage clicks when a page doesn’t load quickly enough so a clunky interface will definitely end me. It might not bother you at all because everyone’s notion of slow or inefficient is different.

Pros

  • Quite accurate data

Cons

  • Clunky interface, not intuitive to use
  • Hidden export costs

Best for: Teams who prioritize accuracy over speed and have better patience than waiting for things to load.

Hunter.io

Designed as an all-in-one email outreach platform, Hunter.io helps you to identify relevant prospects, find their email addresses, verify those email addresses, then send cold email campaigns.

Hunter.io’s interface is pretty easy to use, and their commitment to data accuracy has made them a trusted resource for professionals seeking to connect with key decision-makers.

Hunter's main focus of finding email addresses.

Data quality

Hunter.io verifies all of their emails in real-time and categorizes them based on the response from the email servers.

They go a step further than UpLead, telling you whether the email used is a ‘Disposable’ or ‘Unknown’.

Hunter.io's email validity tiers

In this case, ‘Disposable’ email addresses are temporary emails, sometimes from temp email services. You can send an email there, but it’s probably not getting read.

Then there’s the ‘Unknown’ kind – Hunter.io can’t tell which category it falls into so they aren’t going to give you any guarantees either way. You can take your chances there if you’d like, but I suggest you err on the side of caution and don’t.

When you submit an email for verification, Hunter.io runs it through eight different checks to classify it into one of the above categories. And if the email blocks any of the verification processes, you don’t get charged for it.

Pricing

Get Hunter.io starting at $49/month, or $34/month for an annual subscription.

On the Starter plan, you can already perform 500 searches and 1000 verifications a month. It’s pretty decent if you’re a small business. There’s also the option to top up your credits if you run out before the end of the month.

Hunter.io's pricing plans

For the same price, I think you can get pre-verified emails from another platform instead of having to run all your emails through Hunter.io’s verification system.

Negative reviews about Hunter.io

User experience

While most users are pleased with Hunter.io, the most annoying issue has to be the fact that every sent email shows up in your personal sent box.

And if you CC or BCC anyone, everything gets sent to your inbox. It’s fine if it’s a couple of emails, but when you’re trying to reach 100 people a day, your inbox gets clogged pretty fast.

The interface lacks a few small details here and there, like the last follow-up date, or better menus that make certain functions better.

Negative reviews about Hunter.io

My verdict on Hunter.io

It’s a great complement to any existing workflow because of their email verification capabilities. If you already have a lead generation software, you should consider using Hunter.io to enhance your email deliverability and email campaigns.

Pros:

  • Great bulk email verification tools
  • In-built email campaigns

Cons:

  • High verification costs
  • Company search is less intuitive

Best for: Teams focused on finding verified email addresses - plain and simple.

Tips for Using B2B Email List Providers Like a Pro

Picking the right provider is step one, but to really crush it in lead generation, you’ve got to level up.

  • Keep Your Lists Fresh & Clean
Outdated emails are like old pizza – toss them! Clean your list regularly to keep your stats high and inboxes happy.
  • Segment Like a Superstar
Get specific! Break your list down by role, industry, or location to craft high-converting emails.
  • Supercharge with Data Enrichment
Why stop at just names? Add job titles, company details, and social profiles to get a full picture of your targets. Personalize your outreach, connect meaningfully, and watch engagement soar!
  • Personalize, Baby!
No one likes a generic email. Make your emails feel like they’re written just for the recipient – it’s the key to higher engagement!
  • Quality Over Quantity
Focus on a smaller, targeted list of engaged leads, not a massive one. It’s better to have a few loyal followers than a huge crowd that doesn’t care.
  • A/B Test Like a Mad Scientist
Test different subject lines and content to see what resonates. Experimentation is the secret sauce to optimization! Just make sure you have the resources and a big enough email list to pull it off.
  • Automate and Chill
Set up drip campaigns and let automation handle the heavy lifting—like having a 24/7 assistant working while you relax. These automated email series nurture leads, build trust, and guide prospects toward actions like booking a demo or scheduling a consultation.
  • Follow the Rules
Stay compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and other legal acronyms. Always include an easy opt-out (like an 'Unsubscribe' link) so recipients can stop future emails if they choose.
  • Track Your Wins
Monitor open rates, click-throughs, and bounces. Adjust your strategy based on what works (and what doesn’t)! Use a leads dashboard to boost your leads quality and sales.
  • Post-Campaign Cleanup
Review who engaged and who didn’t. Clean up your list to keep it fresh for future campaigns.
  • Set Expectations
Let subscribers know when and what kind of emails to expect. Use a welcome email to outline the content and frequency, offer subscription preferences, and stick to a consistent schedule. No surprises - just helpful, relevant content!
  • Use AI
Let AI do some of the heavy lifting! It can help you optimize your lead generation process with AI, find the right prospects faster, and even craft personalized messages. Who doesn’t want a little robot assistant to make things easier? 😉

Need-based solutions for your B2B email lists

Choosing the right B2B email provider really depends on your business needs, target audience, and budget.

While market leaders like ZoomInfo offer extensive integrations and databases, the costs are prohibitively high for smaller businesses and the number of features make it hard to hit the ground running.

In contrast, Sapiengraph has plans for all types of businesses and a simplicity that makes it easy for sales reps to get productive in 5 minutes.

For those who want pre-verified leads, albeit at a higher price, they can consider UpLead, Lusha, or RocketReach.

If you have a bunch of emails you need to verify, then Hunter.io’s your go-to, and for those involved in LinkedIn-based prospecting, give Kaspr a shot.

Ultimately, the best tool is the one that aligns with your goals, whether it’s building a massive outreach campaign, or focusing on high-quality, verified connections.
